Scope of Work For Technical  Operator

Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor  Compensation: $20 per hour

Tech Operators provide professional technical support for all rentals, performances, and community gatherings at the André Cailloux Center. This role ensures high-quality sound and lighting execution, supports event setup and breakdown, and works closely with ACC team members to maintain a safe, smooth, and consistent production environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Event Day Operations

  • Operate sound board, microphones, playback systems, monitors, and AV cues.

  • Operate the lighting board, presets, cues, and transitions.

  • Troubleshoot sound and lighting issues in real time.

  • Execute cues according to the run-of-show provided by the Onsite Gathering Manager or Technical Director.

2. Setup & Breakdown

  • Set microphones, cables, speakers, monitors, and basic lighting configurations.

  • Confirm equipment functionality before doors open.

  • Break down equipment after events and return items to proper storage.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe technical spaces.

Call Time: All event team members must arrive 30 minutes before the client's arrival for level setting and run-of-show review.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Work with the On-site Gathering Manager for day-of direction and run-of-show details.

  • Receive technical oversight from the Technical Director.

  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager and support staff as needed.

  • Receive scheduling confirmation from the Event Booking Manager.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow ACC technical and safety protocols.

  • Ensure safe cable management and backstage pathways.

  • Maintain professional conduct at all times.

  • No smoking or drinking permitted during events.

  • Handle equipment with care and report repair needs promptly.

5. Calendaring & Reporting

  • Record all event hours accurately for timely invoicing.

  • Submit invoices monthly or upon completion of work.

Team Collaboration

  • Tech Operators work alongside the Onsite Gathering Manager, Technical Director, Facility Manager, and other operators to ensure comprehensive production coverage.

Work Expectations

  • Attire: All black; ACC-branded t-shirts permitted.

  • Scheduling: Operators may sign up according to availability; final confirmation will be provided by the Event Booking Manager.

  • Location: All work performed onsite at 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans, LA 70119.

  • Supervision: Provided by the Onsite Gathering Manager and Technical Director.

Compensation & Invoicing

  • Invoicing: Invoice monthly or upon completion of work.

  • Payment Terms: Net-30 terms apply; payment is made within 30 days of receiving a complete and approved invoice.
