Suggested donation of $25 or more grants access to the indoor programming, including live performances, holiday treats, and specialty cocktails.
The Free People’s Farmers Market
Rooted in the legacy of Bayou Road as the city’s oldest thoroughfare and a historic marketplace, we’re
creating a community-centered space where fresh, accessible, and culturally relevant food is available to all.
Through economic empowerment, food justice, and the arts, we are reclaiming our right to nourish, gather, and
sustain our people.
When: Designated Saturday of the month, starting October 18th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Where: The parking lot adjacent to The André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice.
We’ve Got a Story to Tell: AR Tours
This guided augmented reality (AR) tour takes participants through key moments in the life of Captain André Cailloux — a formerly enslaved man who became one of the first Black officers in the Union Army during the Civil War. Led by an official tour guide, guests move through historically significant spaces while using their mobile devices to access compelling AR visuals and soundscapes that deepen the story. The experience culminates in a powerful one-man theatrical performance followed by an in-character Q&A.
