Residency Program Mission

The Andre Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice Residency Program provides artistic and institutional support and serves as a strategy for providing equitable space access to historically excluded performing arts companies within New Orleans. Providing an opportunity for those companies to magnify their scope and their economic sustainability within the New Orleans performing arts landscape.

Currently in Residence:

Legacy Resident Companies are companies that have been operating for 15 years or more.
There are no term limits on their residencies. Each company artistically contributes to the
development of the annual Unity Festival and provides 2 skill-building workshops per year, in support of public arts education programming at the center.

No Dream Deferred NOLA serves as the ACC’s Founding Theatre Company In Residence. No Dream Deferred produces the biennial WE WILL DREAM:New Works Festival in Partnership with the Andre’ Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice. The We Will Dream: New Works Festival is designed in part to financially support the ACC Residency Program.

Legacy Resident

Legacy Resident Companies are companies that have been operating for 15 years or more.
There are no term limits on their residencies. Each company artistically contributes to the development of the annual Unity Festival and provides 2 skill-building workshops per year, in support of public arts education programming at the center.

Benefits

  • Legacy Residents have no term limits on their residencies.

  • Each resident company is able to program up to 3 productions per season

  • Each resident company is able to hold workshops, rehearsals, and classes at the ACC

  • ACC provides joint marketing for all Resident Companies productions and events

  • ACC provides POS system and staff for all box office and audience development needs

  • ACC provides front-of-house staffing for productions

  • ACC provides a shared workspace with a printer, and shared office supplies

  • ACC provides quarterly organizational development workshops

  • ACC can provide fiscal sponsorship

Resident Companies

This membership tier consists of 2 resident companies, that have been in operation for 1-9 years. Each resident company can remain in residence for up to 3 years after which companies have the option to become presenting partners. Each company artistically contributes to the development of the annual Unity Festival and provides 2 skill-building workshops per year, in support of public arts education programming at the center.

Benefits

  • Each Company is able to program up to 3 productions per season

  • Each Company is able to hold workshops, rehearsals, and classes at the ACC

  • ACC provides joint marketing for all Resident Company productions and events

  • ACC provides POS system and staff for all box office and audience development needs

  • ACC provides front-of-house staffing for productions

  • ACC provides quarterly organizational development workshops

  • ACC can provide fiscal sponsorship

BECOME A RESIDENT

Production Support offered to resident companies by ACC
2 weeks of rehearsal + one week of tech rehearsal per production
2-week performance runs of productions ( unless otherwise negotiated)
Technical Direction
A roster of preferred operators (to be compensated by the resident company or partner
organization)
